The Global Organic Textile Certification system was led at 2005 by International Working Group as the Organic Trade Association (OTA) of The United States, the Soil Association of the United Kingdom (UK), IVN of Germany and JOCA of Japan. Their aim is to establish common standards of distribution and trade of organic fiber and organic textile products.
The official names of international certifications are divided into GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and OCS (Organic Content Standard). GOTS is so tricky that only 70% or more of the content must be organic cotton to apply for certification. In addition, GOTS certification must fulfill social enterprise obligations such as wage, environment and working conditions. OCS (Organic Content Standard) can be certified under two conditions of 100% Organic Cotton and from 5% mixed organic cotton.
